SSR-114 Naal Stayn : Anywhen

Naal Stayn : 'Anywhen' is a new album with 15 new tracks recorded between march and april 2012 for a total lenght of 44 minutes and 44 seconds. The main concept revolves around the coincidence of life, within various jams & accidents. Concerning the design, it depicts my proto-matic way of making music these last years.

SSR-113 Naal Stayn : Un/form

Naal Stayn : 'Un/form' is a new album with 8 new tracks recorded between november 2011 and january 2012 under a rough schedule : this time no reverb and no additive effects except few digital re-equalizations. The aim is to keep rough & live in the studio sound and to capture unfinished state of art. The bass received a special treatment as the (more or less) same bass line is played two times but put seperately on each panoramic side in order to create an unbalanced stereo. Concerning the design, it depicts a manufactured item degradated/deformed by the ages of time, as a metaphoric tendency of my musical practice. You can listen to 7 tracks of it on Youtube !

ssr-112 Melanome : Macchabes

This is the second album released in November, 11th 2011 by the pathologic Blues band Melanome which consists of Samuel Le B.S (Les Templiers d'Industries, Rien.Neir) & Naal Stayn (KZSE, Tattooed Intestine, etc). There are 2 one-off editions : CDr and special cassette box. The latter consists in the C90 tape album inside a vhs box, plus text and a gift (electronic ear). Graphics by Samuel, Design and packaging by Naal. Well, this gift has many explanations : you have to be deaf to understand this kind of music, or you have to be old (so you need auditive support), or maybe you'll become deaf after hearing our pathologic pieces.

Les Templiers d'Industries : Vehicule is the fourth album by Les Templiers d'industries, the solo project by Samuel le BS (from Montréal). This is intense progressive ambient piece of music on a CDr. Graphics by Samuel Le BS, Design and package by Naal Stayn. It has been released in august, 31st 2011 on Self-Sufficient Records.

'Sisterly Wanking : By Ideal Circumstances' is the third & final EP by 'Sisterly Wanking. I based the design & artwork (of both mini CD & C15 tape) from a vintage advert of an handy kitchen-robot sent to me by the band. It will come out tomorrow on Self-Sufficient Records.

ssr-108 Melanome : s/t

This is the debut album released in April, 9th 2011 by the pathologic Blues band Melanome which consists of Samuel Le B.S (Les Templiers d'Industries, Rien.Neir) & Naal Stayn (KZSE, Tattooed Intestine, etc). The one-off C60 tape edition includes a grey blue cassette in a pink gatefold box & 6 pages inlay. The one-off CD edition has a picture disc and a coloured 8 pages inlay. All artwork by Naal Stayn except portrait of Max by Samuel Le B.S. The album will be a free download item in a couple of days, so stay tuned !

ssr-106 Naal Stayn : Rehearsals (...of a dead love)

Naal Stayn : Rehearsals (...of a dead love) is an album released on December, 31st 2010. The track Devour (from within...) is expanded to five more minutes on the CD version, compared to the cassette one, to last 20 minutes. The A4 size poster on the latter can be seen as a compensation.

ssr-104 'Sisterly Wanking : Birdbash'

'Sisterly Wanking : Birdbash' is the second EP by 'Sisterly Wanking. Once again, I based the design & artwork (of both mini CD & C15 tape) on the vintage pictures sent by Ella Excèntrica. The cassette issue is the deluxe one as you get an orange compact cassette & an orange box + 1 coloured card in a cardboard box protected by a transparent plastic box. But different pics + 3 coloured cards have been used for the mini CD. It all came out this October, 10th 2010.

ssr-102b Naal Stayn : Hurtbeat

 Naal Stayn : Hurtbeat is a EP released on both C20 and mini CDrom issues in September, 21th 2010. The latter adds a bonus : the video of It will end in fear. This time the cassette artowrk works better than the mini CD one, according to me.

ssr-102 Naal Stayn : At the Age of Zero

 

Naal Stayn : At the Age of Zero was released on both C45 and deluxe CD editions. The latter contains the album on a CD, the EP Hurtbeat on a mini CD + 2 coloured photographs printed on glossy paper, the whole in a big double CD box. It came out in September, 19th 2010.

ssr-101 'Sisterly Wanking : Milldrop'

To celebrate the 101th & first release of 2010, I wanted something special... and what could be most special than to produce an external band for the first time ? Well, 'Sisterly Wanking is a male/female duet (Shird Leopart & Ella Excèentrica) from Philippines that I discovered throught Myspace. Their music is an interesting mix between old-fashioned toy loops, fake shoegaze guitars, low-picthed drum machines, amateur synth patterns and trash-jam sub bass lines. The whole thing looks like armless unfinished sketches on which you could not add overdubs. I based the design & artwork (of both mini CD & C15 tape) on the vintage pictures Ella sent to me. It came out in January, 31st 2010.

ssr-100 Tattooed Intestine : Duda Sleek

Tattooed Intestine : Duda Sleek was the fourth album by Tattooed Intestine but most of all the 100th release by Self-Sufficient Records !! What a joy to close that rich year that was 2009 ?! To celebrate this moment I first thought of making a special triple mini CD edition... but due to the inappropriate time running, I paused the trick and chosen a simple CD issue. To arrange that I printed all cover & lyrics & inlay sleeves on glossy paper and I added a coloured photograph. It came out in November, 7th 2009.

Note : the story behind the enigmatic title 'Duda sleek' is a little bit morbid. I was on camping and I saw a family who seemed lovely. Then later when I came back to home, while on my bicycling on a countryside road I discovered an isolated place. I said to myself "oh this would be the perfect one to hide a dead body. After Brainstorming and many artistic related ideas of mine, the concept of duda sleek came out. Duda would be the little girl I saw at the camping, sleek would be the name of his aborted/killed baby... and it would be buried in the isolated place I call Rivercide on this album.

ssr-098 Naal Stayn : From Carnal to Vacuum

Naal Stayn : From Carnal to Vacuum is the third audio release but the first Long Lenght album by me, Naal Stayn. This time I came back to the CD medium and the artwork are only based on my experimental drawings who de-represents the nude human body. It came out in October, 10th 2009.
Here, the music shares the reverb/wall of sound on the early Cocteau Twins albums and a great effort has been made on the bass (both notes, mix presence and sound). You can listen to 2 tracks of it on the Myspace page.
